Was ist eigentlich Suchmaschinen-Optimierung (SEO)?
Eine Definition des Begriffes Suchmaschinen-Optimierung (Search Engine Optimisation / SEO).
Der Begriff Suchmaschinen-Optimierung in vielerlei Hinsicht missverständlich. Eigentlich würde man darunter die Optimierung einer vorhandenen Suchmaschinen (Information Retrieval System) verstehen. Das ist aber weitläufig mit diesem Begriff nicht gemeint.
Unter Suchmaschinen-Optimierung (Search Engine Optimisation oder SEO) versteht man alle Maßnahmen zur Verbesserung der Position, in Bezug auf eine bestimmte Suchanfrage, innerhalb der Ergebnisliste einer Websuchmaschine wie Google, Bing oder Yahoo Search.
Eine Suchanfrage besteht in der Regel aus ein oder mehreren Wörtern, die als Keywords bezeichnet werden. Die Suchmaschine ermittelt bei jeder Suchanfrage die am besten zu den Keywords passenden Dokumente (Websites) und gibt diese sortiert nach der berechneten Relevanz aus. Diese Berechnung ist das große Geheimnis jeder Suchmaschine. Mit Hilfe von SEO-Maßnahmen wird versucht die Relevanz bestimmter Dokumente positiv zu beeinflussen, d.h. dafür zu sorgen, dass sie weiter oben in der Ergebnisliste landen.
Die Maßnahmen die dazu genutzt werden können, sind sehr vielfältig und sollen in den nächsten Wochen und Monaten innerhalb dieses Blogs beschrieben werden.
